Materials
- One jelly roll (40 strips of fabric, each 2.5" x 42")
- Backing fabric (1 piece of fabric that is at least the size of the quilt top)
- Batting (1 piece of batting that is the same size as the quilt top)
- Thread
- Sewing machine
Instructions
- Lay out the jelly roll strips in the order you want them to appear in the quilt. You can use different colors and patterns to create a variety of looks.
- Sew the jelly roll strips together end-to-end to create a long strip of fabric. Press the seams open.
- Cut the long strip of fabric into 10" segments. These segments will form the rows of the quilt.
- Sew the rows of the quilt together to create the quilt top. Press the seams open.
- Quilt the quilt top to the batting and backing fabric. You can hand-quilt, machine-quilt, or tie the quilt.
- Bind the quilt to finish it off.
